"My operation was not an emergency, the valve was deteriorating and had been monitored for several years. When I made an appointment to talk to the surgeon, the wife and several of the children joined me. When Dr. Ofstein came in to see us he had just come from surgery and he spent better than forty-five minutes explaining what was going bad in my heart. Went over the options available. He took the time to answer all questions that were asked. When the decision was made by me to go ahead with the procedure, I was told to set the date, to tell him what type of valve I wanted. After the operation, Dr. Ofstein met with the family and explained why the operation had taken longer than expected. The results from this operation have been much better than I expected. I returned to work within two months. I had a impacted tooth that caused me far more stress recovering from than this valve operation. I was seventy two years old at the time of the operation. "
